Import legacy contracts
Import signed agreements as historical Matters to create a complete contract record. A legacy import does not recreate negotiation Turns. It stores the final document as the Executed Copy and captures the dates and obligations your team still needs to manage.
Prepare your files
Use searchable PDF or DOCX files up to 50 MB. Remove password protection before upload and use one file per primary agreement. Add amendments and schedules as separate documents within the same Matter.
Create an import
Open Matters, select Import contracts, and upload up to 100 files. Redline creates a draft import row for each primary agreement.
Confirm extracted fields
Review the counterparty, agreement type, effective date, term, renewal behavior, notice deadline, and governing law. Low-confidence values are highlighted for manual review.
Attach related documents
Add amendments, exhibits, and schedules to the matching Matter. Label each file so the document timeline remains clear.
Publish the records
Assign an owner and select Complete import. Redline marks the primary file as the Executed Copy and schedules Renewal Reminders from the confirmed dates.
For rejected or unreadable files, see document upload errors.
